About
GoingtoSeminary.com was started in 2007 by me, Ryan Burns. After being a campus minister for 8 years I felt the call to attend seminary in order to better prepare for the next 60 years of life and ministry. As a husband and father (Asher ‘05 and Grace ‘06) I was concerned that there was no way I could quit my job, move my family, and become a full time student. I went online and googled “Family Going to Seminary” and found little to no help. So, when we finally decided to take the plunge I launched goingtoseminary.com. My goal was to blog about our experiences and, hopefully, provide some hope and encouragement to those who found themselves in a similar situation.
Since launching the site, it has turned into more than I had intended. While I still chronicle my personal experiences, I have broadened the topics covered to dealing with issues of money, family, and other tips and advice from a seminarian perspective for seminarians. Along with that, goingtoseminary.com has recently added several new contributors. So, more than just getting my advice and insight, we have a wider range of personal experiences to pull from.
The hope is that goingtoseminary.com will serve as a resource and encouragement for those who are in seminary and for those who might be considering seminary. We invite you to join in the conversation by commenting with your thoughts an opinions on all our posts, as well as participating in our online forum. If you have any quesitons, we invite you to contact us with our online from.
Soli Deo Gloria,
_ryan
