How Much Should You Read?

There is an interesting conversation taking place over at Said at Southern. Tony Kummer has asked us how we go about reading books for seminary classes. Mark Warnock of Seminary Survival Guide fame has added some great insight. Check out the article and add your two cents.

One response to How Much Should You Read?

  1. Personally, I try to read every word. However, as I read through all of David Garland’s massive tome on 1 Corinthians I do admit that I read some parts more carefully than others.

I find that I don’t have a lot of retention when I read, so my approach is to read with a highlighter the first time and then go back through and really study the main points. Much of it depends on whether I am going to be tested on the material too.
